How we work

Every Midocean engagement follows one rule: work moves forward in stages, and each stage ends with something you can inspect and a sign-off you control. The stages fit what you buy, from a four-step Starter Pack to a five-phase implementation. The rule, the named team and the upgrade-safe engineering stay the same.

The rules on every engagement

  • Blueprint before build. Configuration follows a documented fit-gap, not a demo script.
  • Your sign-off moves the work. Nothing goes to the next stage until you approve it.
  • Core left untouched. Customizations ship as separate Frappe apps.
  • Every request ticketed. After go-live, support runs through a tracked helpdesk.

How every engagement starts

The same four steps, whatever you need. Nothing is scheduled until you have approved a written proposal.

  1. Discovery call

We arrange a call to understand your processes, users and the systems you use today.

  2. Service fit confirmation

We confirm whether implementation, a fixed package, migration, customization or support fits.

  3. Proposal and scope

You receive a written proposal that sets out the scope and commercial terms.

  4. Project initiation

Once you approve the proposal, the work is scheduled and started.

What happens next depends on what you need

Choose an engagement to see its stages, what you receive and what you sign off.

Planned ERPNext implementation

Multi-department, multi-plant or multi-company rollouts with customization and data migration.
How it is priced

  1. Discovery and fit-gap blueprint

We interview process owners in each department and document how orders, production, stock and money move today. Each requirement is classified as standard, configuration or custom development.

You receive: Blueprint documentSign-off: Blueprint sign-off

  2. Configuration and prototyping

Company structure, chart of accounts, naming series, items, warehouses, roles, permissions and workflows are configured. Process owners walk through their own scenarios in a working prototype.

You receive: Working prototypeSign-off: Prototype walkthrough

  3. Data migration

Customers, suppliers, items, accounts, open transactions and opening balances are imported from your current system and reconciled against it before cut-over.

You receive: Reconciliation reportSign-off: Balances agreed

  4. Training and user acceptance testing

Each department is trained on its own workflows and tests real scenarios. Issues are logged and closed before go-live is approved.

You receive: UAT logSign-off: UAT sign-off

  5. Go-live and hypercare

Cut-over, day-one handover and a hypercare period with priority attention to post-go-live issues. Then you choose whether to continue with an Annual Maintenance Contract.

You receive: Handover packSign-off: Go-live approval

Amber marks the point where you sign off before work continues.

What stays the same on every engagement

These are the working rules you can hold us to, whichever service you choose.

Process before software

A planned implementation starts with a fit-gap blueprint of how each department works. Every requirement is classified as standard, configuration or custom development before anything is built.

Your sign-off moves the work

Each stage ends with something you can inspect: a blueprint, a working prototype, a reconciliation report, a UAT log or a handover pack. The next stage starts when you approve it.

The lightest change that works

Configuration first, then workflow, report, script and integration. A custom app is built only when nothing lighter solves the problem.

Core left untouched

Fields, DocTypes, workflows, reports and integrations ship as separate Frappe apps in Git, so ERPNext and Frappe can still be upgraded.

Every request ticketed

After go-live, support runs through Midocean Helpdesk. The ticket holds the request, every update and the outcome, so nothing is lost between calls.

Estimates before development

Support never quietly turns into development. When a fix needs code changes, you get a separate timeline and estimate before any work starts.

Who works on your project, and when

The team changes shape as the work moves from discovery to growth. You always know who is accountable.

Questions about how we work

How does a project with Midocean start?

With a discovery call about your processes, users and current systems. We then confirm which service fits, send a written proposal with the scope and commercial terms, and schedule the work once you approve it.

Does every engagement follow the same phases?

No. Every engagement follows the same rule, that each stage ends with a deliverable and your sign-off, but the stages fit the work: four steps for a Starter Pack, five phases for a full implementation or an Odoo migration, and a ticket workflow for support.

What do we sign off during an implementation?

The blueprint, a walkthrough of the working prototype, the migrated balances, user acceptance testing and the go-live itself. Each phase ends with one of these approvals before the next phase starts.

Who will work on our project?

A named team. ERP consultants and business analysts lead discovery, Frappe developers with QA and DevOps handle the build, and functional consultants and support stabilize go-live. The people are listed on our team page.

Do you modify the ERPNext core?

No. Fields, DocTypes, workflows, reports and integrations ship as separate Frappe apps in Git, so ERPNext and Frappe can still be upgraded.

How is support handled after go-live?

Through Midocean Helpdesk under an AMC hour or ticket pack. Every request is a ticket, there is no phone or WhatsApp support, and any change that needs development is estimated separately before work starts.
